A Shop in Carmel, 20″x24″

July 12 – This was such a delightful spot to paint that we went back 3 days in a row. I really enjoyed painting the changing weather. The first day began cloudy, but it turned into bright, late afternoon sun by the second day, only to return to the beautifully moody, overcast day you see in this painting. The people as always, were so friendly to us. One lovely woman stopped to watch me as I was painting the cloudy sky back in over the bright blue, and said with a warm smile, “it’s better that way as that’s more of our usual weather here.”
